Schedule and results for Panamanian athletes at the Rio Olympics

The first Panamanian athletes to compete in the 2016 Rio Olympic summer games were David Muñoz in shooting and Edgar Crespo in swimming. These events took places on August 6th. 

David Muñoz - Shooting (August 6) 

David Muñoz competed at 11:00 am on August 6 tat the National Shooting Center, in the qualifying series for air pistol shooting at 10 meters, in which he placed last. His first round score was 88, low for the Panamanian representative. In the lead was Chinese Wei Pang, who accumulated 590 points with three rounds of 99 , 98 and 97 . David Muñoz will participate next Wednesday August 10 in the form of 50 meters at 7:00 a.m.

Edgar Crespo - Swimming (August 6) 

Swimmer Edgar Crespo saw action on August 6th at 12:40 p.m. at Olympic Aquatics Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.

where he competed in the 100 meter breaststroke, which was his third outing in the Olympic Games. 

Crespo participated in the second qualifying series this specialty swimming and finished with a time of 1 minute 2.78 seconds, leaving him in position 41 out of 46 competitors. Swiss Andrius Sidlauskas, placed first with a time of1: 00.59, to enter the semifinals.

In a statement to the Olympic Committee of Panama in Crespo said ”It was not my best performance, I know I loosened in the last 50 meters, was not the plan, but that things happened. We must recover and move on, because that's what this is about," Crespo Olympic Committee of Panama in a statement.

Crespo has finished its participation in the Olympics.

Isabella Amado - Gymnastics (August 7) 

The third competitor from Panama to see action at the olympic games was gymnast Isabella Amado who to to the  HSBC Arena, located in the Sports City Complex on August 7 at 7:45 a.m. Panama Isabella Amado placed sixth after in the qualifying round of the all around category. 

The young Panamanian gymnast said “I am very happy, I improved my marks, which was the target. It was a great experience. "

Eileen Grench - Fencing (August 8) 

Today, August 8th 2016, Eileen Grench will be the fourth Panamanian athlete in the competition, competing in fencing at 9:00 a.m. 

Maria Far - Swimming (August 9) 

Panamanian swimmer, Maria Far, will be the fifth Panamanian athlete jump into the  Olympic Stadium Aquatics Pool in Rio de Janeiro, to compete in the 200m butterfly on August 9th at 11:20 a.m.

Ateyna Bylon - Boxing (August 14) 

The Panamanian boxer will Ateyna Bylon will jump in to the ring on August 14th at 9:00 a.m., for the preliminary round for her category, 75 kilograms. 

Yvette Lewis - Athletics (August 16) 

On August 16th, Yvette Lewis will compete at 9.00 a.m. in the hurdles and sprinter, Alonso Edward at 9:50 a.m., both competitors seeking to pass this round to get into the semifinals.

Carolena Carstens - Taekwondo (August 18)

Panamanian Carolena Carstens will compete in taekwondo on August 18 at 7:00 a.m. in the Olympic Training Center.  Carstens managed to qualify for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro after winning the gold medal in the -57 kg at the Pan American Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Aguascalientes, Mexico.

Jorge Casteblanco - Marathon (August 21) 

Panamanian long distance runner, Jorge Casteblanco will participate on August 21 from 7:30 a.m. Jorge Castelblanco qualified for the 2016 Rio Olympics, clocking a time 2.15: 57 in the Haspa Marathon Hamburg, Germany.
