New Uber Service hits Panama

Uber service is still a major controversy in Panama City, as taxi drivers continue to protest the company’s competitive alternative transport model. While the battle rages on, Uber has announced another offering for those living in and visiting Panama.

Dinner and a helicopter ride. Yes thats right, this weekend Uber announced that for $300 per couple, every Saturday they will be offering flights from Albrook airport to a restaurant owned by chef Carlos “Chombolín” Alba.

The “Uber helicopter” model has been tested in Sao Paulo where helicopters have been used to transport people between airports, hotels and convention centers.

According to an Uber authorized spokes person, the service is confirmed to begin in Panama July 2.  Reservations can be made on Thursday’s until 4:00 p.m.
