Panama Wins Six Travel Awards

The World Travel Awards celebrated their 22nd anniversary with a Latin America Travel Gala that took place last month in Bogota, Colombia. At the event Panama, and national companies in Panama, took home six World Travel Awards.

In the airline categories, Colombian Avianca was voted South America’s Leading Airline and Copa Airlines was recognized as Mexico & Central America's Leading Airline. Tocumen International Airport was awarded the best airport terminal in the region and Panama Ports won as best port to start a cruise. Panama City was voted the best destination for doing business.

In the catagory of hotels the Waldorf Astoria on calle Uruguay was awarded best hotel for business, and the Sheraton hotel as the best hotel in Panama for conventions.

In total there were 30 categories in the World Travel Awards for Mexico and Central America.
