Picasso Practical Spanish: Stay formal, stay cool!

So, you probably know that Spanish (unlike English, but like other Latin-stem languages) has two different ways to say “You” : a formal address and an informal address. Since we are newcomers to the country and to the language, the best rule of thumb for staying cool (meaning safe, respectful,  polite, etc) is to stay formal. Here are some useful little phrases to help you along the way:1) Could you do _______ for me please = Usted me podría _______ por favor Here we use the Infinitive form of the verb   Eg: Could you help me please?Usted me podría ayudar por favor?

Could you take me to the bank please?
Usted me podría llevar al banco por favor?

2) Would you be so kind as to………. =
Usted sería tan amable de……..

Again, we use the Infinitive form of the verb

Eg: Would you be so kind as to bring me a glass of water
Usted sería tan amable de traerme un vaso con agua

Would you be so kind as to send me an email to remind me
Usted sería tan amable de mandarme un email para recordarme
