How to lose weight at a steady pace
Create a 'Calorie Deficit' with Diet & Exercise to Lose Weight at a Steady Pace This week we'll focus on the 'diet' part of 'Calorie Deficit'...... Studies suggest that steady weight loss that is achieved through a combination of regular physical activity and nutrient dense food intake (creating a calorie deficit) is more sustainable than the rapid weight loss that results from 'fad' diets. When the number of calories you burn is greater than the number of calories you consume, you have a calorie deficit which leads to weight loss if maintained over time.
The deficit can be very small each day but as the days pass, it can add up quickly!
Here is an example when you remove just one thing from your diet that you usually consume such as a tin of soda -
1. Don't drink that one tin of soda you normally drink each day worth 125 calories per tin.
weekly - 125 cal. X 7days = 875cal.
monthly - 875cal. X 4weeks = 3500cal.
(1 pound of body fat is equal to 3500 calories)
Therefore, if you don't change anything else, you can lose 1 pound of body fat in a month just by eliminating the equivalent of one soda per day!
That's 12 pounds in a year!! It pays to stick with it doesn't it?
See you in class!
