Water, Water y Mas Agua!!

What better Health and Wellness tip to start with but one that I challenges me the most - Water.  "You should drink 8-10 glasses of water a day"  oh my.  I have tried, I have gagged and I have forced it down my throat but after 3 glasses I need some flavour/flavor.  All my life this has been a huge challenge for me.  I know the benefits, I know why we should be drinking water and that all makes sense and I get it!  However brussel sprouts are good for you too and there is no way I am putting even one of those in my mouth.

I took my problem to the internet.  I was not alone.  Myself and millions of others in this world have a problem with consuming H20.  I started eating celery and mushroom like they were going out of style.  However to get my daily requirement of water I would need to have my own mushroom farm and consume over 50 stalks of celery a day.

I have found a solution or one that works for me and keeps me hyrdrated. Lime, Lemons and Water with Bubbles.  There is low sodium soda water on the market that I have reasearched to be just as good as water in its raw form. The lime and the lemon are of course trendy and simply adds some flavour/flavor.

 There is one more catch and one that I did not like.  Here in the tropics, especially in our "humid" season we should all be drinking 12-15 glasses of water a day.  Not Pepsi, Pepsi Light or Orange Juice or Cervezas...but 12-15 glasses of H20 - Water - Agua - L'eau each day.  By the way, for every alcoholic beverage one should be consuming at least 1 glass of water to
rehyrdrate.

Facts and Figures:

The human body, which is made up of between 55 and 75 percent water is in need of constant water replenishment.

Your lungs expel between two and four cups of water each day through normal breathing - even more on a cold day. If your feet sweat, there goes another cup of water. If you make half a dozen trips to the bathroom during the day, that's six cups of water. If you perspire, you expel about two cups of water (which doesn't include
exercise-induced perspiration). -WOW!

Lack of water can lead to dehydration, a condition that occurs when you don't have enough water in your body to carry on normal functions. Even mild dehydration - as little as a 1 percent to 2 percent loss of your body weight - can sap your energy and make you tired. Dehydration poses a particular health risk for the very young and the very old. Signs and symptoms of dehydration
include:

*        Excessive thirst
*        Fatigue
*        Headache
*        Dry mouth
*        Little or no urination
*        Muscle weakness
*        Dizziness
*        Lightheadedness

So my challenge for everyone of you is this...count how many glasses of water you drink a day.  Write it down and by the New Year I would like us all to be consuming at least 10 glasses of water a day.  Buy a Brita, get a filter, do not buy bottled water but do what you need to do.  What I am saying is if this water gagger can do it, so can you!
