This Caribbean on the Pacific restaurant is now back in Coronado and open for business. Pantay had left us for San Carlos but have now decided to permanently come back to Coronado for it’s one year anniversary.

Sept 2010, was in Coronado, then San Carlos and now back in Coronado

Setting:

 

Surrounded by large elongated rocks, are 12 wooden tables. This is an outside open covered area but somehow has a hideaway feel to it. A few surf boards decorate the walls, on of which had has various signatures on them. Perhaps one is a Champion Surfer? There is a small wooden stand up bar in one corner.

Menu:

 

Appetizers, soups and salads. A platter of nachos is $4.50, Seabass ceviche $5.00 to a palenque platter which includes Ceviche, patacones, calamari, fish fingers, clams for $20. This plate serves 4 people. They also offer a Chicken Thai soup for $5. The main menu consists of tacos, hamburgers, veggie pita, pastas and assorted meats. Pastas and seafood are offered with a choice of sauces: Oil, coconut with rum, curry, lemon with coriander, macho or lemongrass. The seafood mix pasta is prices at $9.50. Chicken and beef plates vary from $8.00 to $10.50 for baby back ribs in a BBQ sauce. All meals come with both a salad and a side dish or 2 side dishes of either fried plantain, French fries, fried yucca, baked or mashed potatoes. For desert there are choices of apple pie, lemon pie or cheese cake for $4.00 each.   

Beverages:

 

Sodas, lemonades, natural juices, milkshakes. National beer at $1.50 and imported beer at $2.50. Alcoholic drinks and mixed drinks vary from 2.00 to $7.00.

Wine:

$4 for a glass, $24. per bottle for either a Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot or Malbec. A pitcher of Sangria is $16.00

Corkage:

$5. charge per bottle.

Around the $9.50 mark.

This restaurant has this fun breezy feeling and will be offering in the near future live music on Saturdays. As of December to May, a breakfast menu will be featured.
