Out contest judges are Sylvain Duford and Bruno Bartolotta.

Sylvain Duford started his interest in photography in 1976 with a 35mm film camera. He built his own dark-room and shot both B&W and color, shooting to print. In the late 1990s he switched to digital and enjoyed using a computer as his new “dark-room”.

"As I get older I seem to be less interested in the gear and more into the art. Because of that I switched from a pro Nikon full-frame kit to a lightweight Micro Four Thirds kit. This has allowed me to carry my camera everywhere I go and enjoy photography again. My back is thankful too!"

"As a judge I will put the emphasis on the artistic qualities rather than the technical qualities of the photographs. In particular I will look for pictures that tell a story or that are visually compelling. Break out of the rules and surprise me."

Sylvain blogs about all things photography on his blog Duford.Com.

Bruno Bartolotta,  is a french photographer passioned with the world around him. "Since I started my journey into photography I have seen so many talents and diverse styles of photography. There is no « one way » to take a picture but there is a common trait : a photographer makes an images, he does not take a snapshot. A photographer sees a scene and he starts digging and creating an image of that scene that best represents what he wants to say about it. It can be a portrait, it can be a Macro, it can be a street photo, it can be a landscape but what is important is the story that is told. Many things come into an image, the technique of how it’s shot, the artistic choices made in post process. What is important is what you want to say. Surprise me with who you are”.
