Mayra Davidson - Coronado Administrator

Señora Mayra Davidson has worn many hats in her life, from medical student, wife, mother, insurance administrator, and now in Panama, her latest hat worn is that of Administradora de la Asociacion de Residentes de Playa Coronado. While Señora Mayra returned to her native Panama to retire after 42 years in Texas, she has been an active and integral part of life in Coronado.  With a passion for giving to her country, she began the Uniforms for Schoolkids Project through the Coronado Social Association, elected as President of that group last year.  She sits on the Safety Committee with Police forces around the beach areas. She is a Profesora of Spanish as a second language, as well as English as a second language, for individuals and groups, such as the Coronado Policia.  She also has acted as translator in both casual and serious situations.People in need of just about anything go to Señora Mayra first.  She has problem solved and trouble shot almost daily since arriving 3 years ago. As of November 1, 2008, the Position of Regidora was retired and the new position of Administradora created.  It is almost unimaginable that anyone would take on a new job during one of the heaviest holidays of the Panamanian year.    However, Señora Mayra has been eager to assist the community at one of its most difficult times at the request of the Board of Directors of the Asociacion de Residentes  de Playa Coronado.

In her new position, Señora Mayra’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, first of all serving as a point of contact/liaison between the Associacion Board of Directors and Coronado residents, governmental agencies, and private companies that may interact with the daily residential operations of Coronado and its beaches.

Early in this new position, Señora Mayra found herself in conflict resolution in road issues, problem solving in staffing shortages, but she also found a strong community support in the form of new and renewed memberships/gate card activation in the Asociacion, many of which she processed herself to free up her new staff.  Beach accidents and parties were also a part of her workload by her third day on the job.  She also helped a disabled elderly woman gain access her home and took a few moments to speak reassuredly to her.

Señora Mayra’s responsibilities in security and planning are made easier by her attendance at Security meetings for the past year and having worked with local policia through her English as a Second Language program.  She will be implementing plans for supervising the clean up of unimproved lots, improper burning, and indiscriminate cutting of trees.  By her third day on the job, she had a new part-time employee doing major trash clean up from parties Sunday evening and early Monday morning.

Señora Mayra reports directly to the Administrative Board of Directors of the Asociacion de Residentes de Playa Coronado.

Already Señora Mayra has initiated new and innovative procedures by developing a group of new employees with vital training programs, as well as a group of volunteers in the community.

Stay tuned, Coronado...
