Father drowns after saving his two children on Panama beach
Sunday, Rolando Medina, 29, the children’s father, lost his life in San Carlos after rescuing his two children who were caught in the current. The incident occurred around 2:00 p.m.
Strong waves began pulling the children out, and the children’s father jumped into the sea to rescue them. Sources explained that while with "great effort he managed to get them to safety, but fatigue and the force of the sea overcame him."
Witnesses reported that other people on the beach helped pull the man from the water and provided first aid, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), before transporting him by private vehicle to the San Carlos Social Security Fund clinic.
Despite medical efforts, he passed on his way to the emergency room.
