Rod Carew To Conduct Clinics In Panama

newsnviews2.jpgPANAMA (baseballdeworld.com) - Former Major League batting champion Rod Carew will conduct youth baseball clinics in Panama from November 10-15.

The visit consists of a program between the Major Leagues and the Panamanian government which aspires to develop a future baseball academy to train talented baseball prospects.

“This will be the third clinics of this type that will be realised in this country,” said chancellor Samuel Lewis in a press conference accompanied by Major League executives of the majors in Latin America, Ronaldo Peralta and Tom Bradley.

Peralta said that there is an order of Panama for the establishment of an academy and an ambitious program to bolster the sport. Carew, the only Panamanian in the Major League Baseball Hall, recently conducted clinics in Nicaragua.
