Coronado Phase 1 & 2 of Development

Coronado, Panama the pioneer development of the Rivera Pacifica recently announced the completion of the initial phase of development.

With several new projects that have already broken ground as part of phase 2, and more underway, expect more options a wide variety of lifestyles on the market. Despite being the most developed beach community along the Pacific Coast, beaches and facilities are typically uncrowded in Coronado. The History of Coronado, Panama 

Playa Coronado was founded by Roberto “Bob” Eisenmann in 1941, when the road was just a dirt path and the journey from Panama took around 3 hours. Spanning over 900 hectares, the Coronado community grew, and by 1970 the Coronado Golf Community was founded. 

In 1972 the first phase of development in the beach area began in Coronado, During this time projects like the Aprucc Condominiums became the first condos in the area. In 1973, ground broke on the Coronado Beach Golf Club, with a world class 18-hole course designed by Tom and George Fazio. 

Phase 1 of Coronado continued in the 90’s with the construction of the iconic Punta Prieta towers, which continues to be one of the most unique condo development in Coronado today due to its location over looking the Pacific Ocean. By 1994, Coronado was booming with development and construction began on the hotel. The Coronado Golf & Beach Resort, as it was called at the time, was a 104 all suite hotel and serviced the area for over two decades.


Today the Coronado Luxury Suites and Hotel continues to function as boutique hotel offering, with 16 rooms. In 2020, the suites were sold to create a turn-key offering for a vacation lifestyle in Coronado. 

1994 also brought the Equestrian Club Community, which in it’s infancy hosted top-tier horse riding competitions. Today the Equestrian is also in its second phase of development, with the Paseo Verde community. 

In 2009 the subdivision of the Alcazar Park was developed offering large lots surrounding the Coronado Golf Course. The Alcazar condo was built the same year and it continues to be one of the most spacious condo offerings in Coronado. With a 4 point star design and only 4 units per floor, all with 360 degree views and cross ventilation, situated on the golf course of Coronado. Which focuses on each student’s individual goals, PBL has been widely researched and applied in some of top schools around the world.

Present Day Coronado, Panama 

Today Coronado continues to grow as a beach destination and with more full-time residents than ever before. Coronado is perfectly suited not only to retirees, but also families and young professionals. Not only because of the options for education and health care, but also the lifestyle, and asense of community. As more and more people are seeking to leave big cities, without getting too far from amenities, Coronado seems like the perfect fit. There are also several full-time dentist and usually there is an English speaking person on staff.

Coronado is a large gated area surrounding the Coronado Golf Course, there are only a few lots remaining that can be purchased direct from the initial phase of development. Most of the lots located on the golf course have been developed, with just a few resales currently on the market.
