Athen’s Pizza opens in Coronado Panama

Athen’s Pizza is a casual restaurant offering quality Greek food, friendly service, and reasonable prices, with a wide variety of dishes made with fresh ingredients.

Athen’s Pizza opened its doors in Panama City,  in May of 1992 when Panagiotis Stamatakis, began offering his original and creative twist on Greek food to the public. Chef Stamatakis, who had been in the industry since 1981, explains that "the roots of the restaurant embrace not only Greek but also Mediterranean food, especially from the Island of Crete". 

Now with 17 branches in Panama, one of which is right here in the Pacific Beach town of Coronado, Panama, Athen’s Pizza has big plans for 2022. This year the well-known brand will enter the North American market in the Orlando Florida area. 

We spoke with the team at Athen’s pizza at their Coronado location to learn about the experience.

The Athen’s Pizza experience is based on the adventure of rediscovering artisanal pizza through new flavors inspired by Greek cuisine. Each dish is made with quality ingredients, unique combinations, homemade dough, and always baked fresh. 

In addition to Pizzas, you can also enjoy Salads, Gyros, Pitas, Pasta, Greek Yogurt, Greek Desserts, and natural juices.  The dining atmosphere is casual and family-friendly. 

Tip: Ask for a side of the Tzatziki dip, or if you like spice, try the house hot sauce. Also, if your looking for a fresh and healthy option the Ladopsomo ® salad is unmatched. Try it with a size of Tzatziki and olives!
