Seven protesters arrested in Panama
Thursday August 13th 2020, a small group of young protestors took to Calle 50th, seven of the group were arrested and will be fined for "disturbing public order and obstruction of public roads."
protestors took to the street under #YaBasta, a campagin launched on Thursday to protest against the quarantine restrictions declared in Panama due to the Covid 19 pandemic.
Among the group of seven arrested were Mauricio Valenzuela, Diego de Obaldia and Elvis Catillo from the digital information site Foco.
Mauricio Valenzuela, explained that they were released at dawn Friday, August 14, and would be summoned for 1:00 pm before the Justice of the Peace of the corregimiento of San Francisco.
