Democrats Abroad in Panama to hold local Primary Voting Center

US citizens in the Playa Coronado area can vote in person for their preferred presidential candidate on March 6 as part of the Democrats Abroad Global Presidential Primary.

DEMOCRATS IN THE BEACHES AREA CAN PARTICIPATE IN THE GLOBAL PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY ON MARCH 6

US citizens living in the Playa Coronado area will have the chance to vote in person for their Democratic presidential candidate of choice on March 6 as part of the Democrats Abroad Global Presidential Primary.  Primaries are set to take place around the globe from “Super Tuesday” March 3 through March 10, in over 230 voting centers in more than 40 countries around the world. DA then sends 21 delegates to the Democratic National Convention to vote the preferences of Democrats living overseas.

All Americans residing outside the United States may participate in the primary, provided they are 18 or older by November 3, 2020, are Democrats Abroad members, and have not voted in another presidential primary or caucus in this election cycle. Same-day registration is available for US Citizens who have not yet joined Democrats Abroad. Americans in the Playa Coronado area can vote in person at: Pacific Coast International School Nueva Gorgona, Panamá Oeste Friday, March 6 from 9 am to 2 pm

DA-Panamá will also hold Global Presidential Primary voting centers in Boquete on March 3, and Panama City on March 8. Additionally, from now through March 10, Democrats Abroad who are unable to vote in person are also able to vote remotely. More information on this is available at:

After voting concludes, the primary results will be tabulated and any presidential candidate receiving at least 15% of votes cast will be proportionally allocated Democrats Abroad delegates at the Democratic National Convention in Minneapolis, Milwaukee, 13-16 July, 2020.

“This year Democrats in Panamá will help select a presidential candidate that will represent the best hopes and aspirations for our nation,” according to Democrats Abroad-Panamá Chair Kim Antonsen.

The Voting Center Manager for the PCIS location, Kit Filbey added, “We invite all Democrats in Panamá, especially in the beaches area, to participate in this critically important year.”
