Coronado House vs. Coronado Condo

When looking accommodations in Coronado, Panama, the first thing you will need to think about is if a condo or and house is the right choice for you.

One thing to keep in mind is price point. 

If being beachfront is a must, a condo will almost always be the lower priced option. Inside the gated community of Coronado there several beachfront condos, including the Coronado Bay and the Coronado Country Club towers. If second line (steps from the beach, or across the street) interests you still, you will find much lower rents and sale prices on homes.  

If privacy and space are important...a house might be more of what your looking for.

Condo living (especially Coronado beachfront condos) can be tight. While penthouses can offer additional space, the price tag on a penthouse can often been as much or more as a house in Coronado steps from the beach. 

Another factor to consider is - backyard vs. common area.
One downside to having a personal yard in North America is the maintenance, however, when you rent in Panama typically a gardener and pool maintenance will be included. If you are picking up this fee it will typically run under $100/month. Those who will find having a personal backyard a huge bonus are often those with pets and large families.

If finding a sense of community is important to you, you want to keep this in mind when choosing your accommodations in Coronado, Panama.
As an expat in Panama a condo can offer a sense of community that can otherwise be difficult to find. However, if you do choose a house, try finding one that offers access to the Coronado Beach and Golf Club. This way you can take part in resort activities and happy hours! Another great place to meet fellow expats is the Picasso Happy Hour and through CASA (the Coronado Area Social Association).
