Mail Service In Panama

North Americans usually don’t spend much time worrying about mail service. This tends to change when moving to a foreign country. Panama does not have door to door mail delivery, but there are still options available for you to get mail in Panama.

Most foreigners use an international package service such as DHL or FedEx to send documents and item to North America or Europe. Generally these companies are reliable and your package gets to its destination within a day or two. Rates vary depending on company. The Panama postal system is also an option if you are not in a rush. Though using the postal system is cheaper than a shipping company, delivery time is much longer.

The easiest way to receive mail in Panama is through a mail forwarding service. Those companies will give you a post office box in Miami and once your mail arrives in Miami it is brought to Panama. Most companies charge an annual fee as well as charge you per pound or per item when you pick up your mail. These services are quite reliable and the mail usually arrives quickly. There are a number of companies to chose from and most outfits have branches throughout Panama. Airbox Express and Air Facility PTY are examples of these mail forwarding companies.

There are a couple of options for sending items within Panama as well. Some people chose to send less valuable items on the bus. This is usually the cheapest bet and is quite reliable. It is probably not a good idea to send items of value on the bus. The other option for sending items with Panama is with a national transport company. There are a handful of these companies in Panama and generally their service is reliable and affordable.

Although there is no door to door national mail system in Panama, there are viable and affordable mail options in Panama.
