Vista Mar appartment part of PAN auction

Former director of the National Aid Program (PAN), Rafael Guardia Jaén’s home was auctioned for $167,912.60.

The  apartment is  located in the Vista Mar Complex, district of San Carlos which was part of apprehended goods by the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) .

The property was purchased by the DMVG Foundation, an organization that, according to the MEF, "is constituted, organized and duly registered in the Public Registry".

It was reported that the offer of the foundation "was above the base price" and was the only one that was presented, for this reason "the act was closed".

This was the third public act that was convened to auction off the property that was apprehended for crimes committed against the public administration, as explained by the institution.

Guardia Jaén has had a series of real estate confiscated, such as the Costa del Este mansion as well as vehicles. The ex-official returned $ 30 million deposited in bank accounts that were presumed to have been illegally acquired through crimes committed against the PAN, during the government of President Ricardo Martinelli.
