Conservación Panama S.T.E.M program
Conservacion Panama Inc. is a U.S. 501 (c) (3) NGO working with girls in rural communities to introduce them to the world of Science, Technology, Engineering & Math.
Conservation Panama will be running free workshops for children in rural/remote communities throughout Panama.
S.T.E.M (Science, technology, engineering & Math) programs will be offered to approx. 100 students, particularly female students, each week. The programs aim to expose the world of science technology engineering and math, engaging curiosity and sparking an interest.
Since many of these communities lack basic amenities like running water and electricity, it can be hard to use contemporary equipment to teach the lessons. That’s why Conservation Panama uses a device called a FOLDSCOPE. This origami microscope can be purchased for less than $2.00.
To help by purchasing a FOLDSCOPE for a student visit the website and make a donation: http://www.conservacionpanamaca.org/support.html
