Waves for Carnival
A high tide warning has been issued by The Panama Maritime Authority (AMP) starting February 9th, 2018 lasting until February 11th, 2018.
The warning is for high waves and strong winds particularly on the Caribbean coast but extends to the Pacific beach area with high tides and some swell lasting until Monday night.
The Caribbean will be expecting quite a bit more swell than the Pacific accompanied by high winds. The US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration say there will be adverse conditions in the central zone of The Caribbean Region with winds that could reach 35 knots and the waves up to 14 feet.
AMP asks that pleasure yachts and small boats with outboard motors take extra caution. For those enjoying their carnival at the beach, stay alert, take caution when entering the water and know how to handle a riptide.
