Sevilla Suites Panama Apart-Hotel Review
(thepanamareport.com) Sevilla Suites is pretty nice. Together with my friend Fern, we stayed in Seville Suites for 3 days. It's ideally located at the heart of the city, approximately 15 minutes from the airport. Directly across the street is a small, intimate, and world-class (according to the waiter, but not to us) restaurant. It's situated in El Cangrejo, easy access (by foot) to almost everything.
Rincon Suizo is considered to be one of the finest and unique eating spots in Panama City. The Wine Bar and the Cafe Pomodoro (offers mostly French-cuisine, such as pasta and steaks), are also near at the apart hotel's location, within walking distance. For a bout 3 blocks from the hotel we found a supermarket which actually offered most of everything we needed. A casino is also near by called the Veneto: pretty mediocre by international casino standards, but nice for Panama.
The room we occupied, the Junior Suite was one large, open room with one queen-size bed. It had all the basic amenities such as desk, living and dinning room, DVD, Cable TV, and telephone which was nice considering we were only expecting a bare apartment. They even have a fully-equipped kitchenette which includes a large, good refrigerator, stove, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and brand new dishes and pots. A digital safe can be also found inside the room which was really convenient and great accommodation for us. The suite was very clean, roomy, and very comfortable and has great air conditioning. Although the decorations, fixtures, and furnishings were slightly older, they passed our test for the price. It is truly a bargain. Views from our window were quite usual, nothing extraordinary.
At the lobby, free internet computers are available. But it's wiser to bring your laptop because there only two available units (note: they have free wireless connection). It's also a plus that they have 24-hour reception, maid service, room service, and security: kind of impressive for such an inexpensive establishment.
A continental breakfast is included and served. Surely not to be missed. Their small gym has very few machines. They have a great swimming pool on the rooftop though which Fern loved. While it was small, we found it to be the best place to relax. One night, we had some food and drinks delivered to the rooftop pool: a total treat! Some guest even brought some friends having pizza and beer.
We never had a problem checking in and checking out. The staff was nice, helpful but less friendly. Some of them spoke good English others didn't. But come on, what do you want here? The Ritz?
If you're looking for luxury this hotel is not for you. But if you prefer to save money and want to be in a convenient location, Sevilla Suites Apart-Hotel is perfect. It is suited for budget travelers and we'd recommend it again.
