Marriott Hotel in Panama City Review

newsnviews2.jpg(thepanamareport.com) When my sister invited me for a vacation in Panama City, I was a bit hesitant to join her. I'm really not sure what to expect. Gladly, Panama is a beautiful country. I also enjoyed our stay at Panama Marriot hotel. It has a good safe location. It is very convenient for us. There are times we skip the hotel's restaurant and walk around a few blocks from the hotel and we have a variety of choices of eating places.

A shopping mall is also close by called Multi Centro (Columbian Owned). The Marriott's lobby is impeccably cleaned, big, and very relaxing. Our room was spacious and definitely the softest bed I have stayed in here in Panama, with quite a number of pillows. The room also came with a coffee maker, hair dryer, iron, a safe, sitting area, and of course large bathroom. Just be ready for the traffic noise because the location, while perfectly central, has its drawbacks for the same reasons.

Another plus for this hotel is their staff. Upon checking in we never had one problem. The front desk service is organized and the assigned personnel communicate effectively, speaks good English. Me and my sister, Kaye were really impressed. The wake -up calls were also prompt. The hotel is staff is first-rate. They are all attentive, helpful and very friendly. They always have a smile on their faces.

Even though the food in the hotel is quite expensive, it is really worth what you're paying for. Good quality and well presented. The taste is exceptional and the sports bar area was great for the guys to watch Real Madrid play against Barcelona in a soccer match. I'm a food lover and I really know how to criticize the quality of a meal. I would greatly suggest their breakfast and their Sunday buffet. Also don't forget to try the coffee in Sabores.

When we decided to have a tour around the city we just took a taxi down the street and had the driver guide us to nearby tourist attractions such as Metropolitan Cathedral, and Panama Canal. The driver didn't speak English well, but for me, it added the fun we had: trying to understand what this hilarious man was trying to say!

On the 3rd day of our stay in the hotel we decided to lounge around their swimming pool which is pretty spacious. It is also worth a dip considering the Panama heat can really get to you.

We've checked out the onsite, well-equipped gym. My sister told me she felt comfortable working out though I prefered to eat donuts in the room. The staff assigned in the gym was so friendly and did some small routines with her. Me, I enjoyed the massage service after my donuts. It was so relaxing.

You might find Marriot hotel to be expensive, as I think it's one of the most so in Panama City. However, the services offered were worth the price for us. And if your looking true local Panamanian experience, you might want to try other hotels as this is about as generic as they come: but we didn't mind it one bit!
