Rain arrives in Coronado Panama after heat wave

The rain has arrived in Coronado Panama, following a heat waves that affected a good portion of Central America. After temperatures ranging between 34 C and 42 C throughout the country, many are thankful for the drop in temperature that comes with rain.

The rain began in the middle of the night in Coronado Panama continuing into the morning. There were several power outages in the area.

This time of year it is usually hot in Panama, nationally the electric grids are taxed with an increase use of air conditioning throughout the country. The state-run ETESA electricity company said that in April, the sun is almost directly overhead in Panama during the middle of the day, making April one of the year's hottest months.

While April is early for rain season, many hope that the rain will stay and offer some relief from the recent heat.
