The theater is a smaller replica of La Scala and is currently under renovation.  Opera Panama opened its inaugural season with Puccini's Madame Butterfly and each season
since has produced a major opera. These operas include, Mozart's Magic Flute, Verdi's La Traviata,
Puccini's La Boheme and AIDA in all its grandeur at the Atlapa Convention Center.

The American opera singer, Irena Sylya is the founder/director of Opera Panama and is noted
for her coaching, training and nurturing of young up and coming opera talent here in Panama.
