Opera Panama Celebrates Shakespeare

FUNDACION OPERA PANAMA will celebrate the 400th Anniversary of Shakespeare with a  production of Macbeth on March 21st and 22nd starting at 8:00 p.m.

The production will feature a local and international cast of singers with costumes by Olga Maslova. This dramatic opera based on Shakespeare's famous play will be enhanced by video mapping projections of breathtaking scenes within the historic ruins of Panama Viejo.

Tickets are available online atTickets Plus. General seating tickets are $50 and VIP/Covered area are available for $250 in the 1st 2 rows, $175 in the next 3 rows and $100 for remaining covered rows.

Cash and cards accepted. Parking is available and taxis are accessible.

GETTING THERE

Bus service can be arranged from Coronado for ticket holders. There must be a minimum of 20 people for the bus service. The bus will be leaving from the Coronado mall to Panama Viejo
and returning to Coronado in the evening. Bus tickets are $10 per person.

ABOUT FUNDACION OPERA PANAMA

This year Fundacion Opera Panama celebrates a decade of Opera performances that have thrilled audiences here in Panama and abroad. The foundation was created on the 100th anniversary of Panama's National Theater in Casco Viejo.

The theater is a smaller replica of La Scala and is currently under renovation.  Opera Panama opened its inaugural season with Puccini's Madame Butterfly and each season
since has produced a major opera. These operas include, Mozart's Magic Flute, Verdi's La Traviata,
Puccini's La Boheme and AIDA in all its grandeur at the Atlapa Convention Center.

The American opera singer, Irena Sylya is the founder/director of Opera Panama and is noted
for her coaching, training and nurturing of young up and coming opera talent here in Panama.
