Batik Exhibition at Coronado Frame
From Thursday December 15th until Saturday December 17th Coronado Frame and foto will be exhibiting original Batik Artwork by Judy Fears.
Judy was born in the Canal Zone, and uses Panama's incredible natural world as inspiration for her work.Judy Fears is a artist who has been doing Batik Art in Panama for 30 years. All of the pieces that will be showcased will also be for sale, they are are original pieces.
The exhibition will end Saturday evening with a reception from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. where you can meet the artist.
About Batik Art
Batik is the art of decorating cloth using wax and dye. The method of Batik has been practiced for centuries. To make a batik, areas of the cloth are blocked out by brushing hot wax over them, and then dying the cloth.
Batik is an ancient tradition in Java, Indonesia, where some of the finest batik cloth in the world is still made. The word batik originates from the Javanese tik, and means to dot.
