The Theatre Guild of Ancon invites Coronado to Christmas Stopping

The Theatre Guild of Ancon celebrates its 66th year of continuously operating in Panama, with a traditional Christmas comedy called Christmas Stopping. The play explores the possibility of doing away with Christmas.

Imagine no overspending, no gifts, no trying to maintain the myth of Santa for your twenty-eight-year-old daughter, no Christmas Blues and no Christmas bells. However, Grant, a middle-aged psychiatrist who tries to do away with the tradition, is seen by his family as a bit of an old Scrooge! And when elves and Santas from the local mall start hurling protests through his window his wife packs her bags. Grant is visited by the Ghosts of Christmas future that tell him horror stories of endless productions of A Christmas Carol and even throw in a rap about Santa. Should he go back to celebrating Christmas or hold strong his crusade?

The play is the Guild’s 7th play for the season and brings an end to an overwhelmingly successful year full of sold out audiences. The production will run with a double cast: a first for the Guild. The decision was due to a talented array of actors during the audition period.
