Young Panamanian surfers in Portugal for the ISA World Juniors

The VISSLA ISA World Juniors Surfing Championship is taking place in Azores, Portugal from September 17th until September 25th. Several young Panamanian surfers are at the world games representing Panama.

The young surfers attending the VISSLA ISA world juniors are Agustin Cendeno, Izzy Isauro, Luis Carlos Lopez, Tao Rodriguez and Kai Gale Garni with Raul Standford as the team leader. Agustin is 17 from Las Tablas and will be competing in the Under 18 category, Izzy 12 and lives in Santa Catalina he is competing in the U18 and U16, Luis is 15 and lives in Tonosi he will also be in the U18 and U16, Tao is 12 and lives in El Palmar he will be competing in the U18 and U16 and Kai, 12 is competing in the U16.

According to a report published by SurfeaPanama the first days of competition brought complicated condition.

Kai Galé Grani did not advance in his Round 1 Repechage, Kai entered the water at worst tide (low tide) with sets up to 8 feet, battling messy crossflow and close out waves.

Isauro Elizondo advanced in Repechage 1 for Sub 16 and Sub 18, advancing in both heats, despite very difficult conditions in the U16 heat, with close outs and heavy waves.
 
Conditions improved for Tao Rodriguez managed placed second and classifying in Repechage 1 for the Sub 18 category.

Luis Carlos Lopez, also advanced in Repechage 1 Sub 18.
