Join the Coronado Photo Club Casco expedition
Sunday, September 25th the Coronado Photography Group will be headed to Casco Viejo to shoot one of Panama’s most photographic old towns. The group will be meeting in Casco Viejo’s Central Square by the General Tomás Herrera Monument at 10:00 a.m.
From there the group will walk the town shooting the variety of textures from old doors, cobbled streets, paint peeling walls to the people on the streets, vendors, cafe guests, and taxis.
The event is open to everyone, you do not need to be a professional photographer to partake. The walk will allow people to branch off into smaller groups in order to explore some of the nooks and crannies the area boasts. You may find the churches and street vendors interests you most or perhaps it's the city views, fish market or fishing boats coming in with a fresh catch that catches your eye.
For a more organized tour approach, the group recommends an application called LIVE WALK PTY. The smartphone app uses GPS to take you on a Casco Viejo tour! The main app is free to download, however, each tour is paid for. The Casco tour is $2.99 - taking you to 18 points of interest in the old town.
The group will meet up again for lunch at 12:30 at Tantalo Kitchen. If you plan to attend and want to meet up for lunch, please RSVP here to Casco Photo Walk - Facebook Event so that the reservation can be made for the right number of people.
The afternoon session of the photo walk will wrap up around 5:30 p.m. There will not be a meeting point at the end of the day, so people can leave when it is most convenient for them.
Photos can be shared on the Coronado Photo Group Facebook page.
