Altos del Maria Green Team Cleanup

The Altos del Maria Green Team have organized a street cleanup on the road from Bejuco to Sora Thursday, September 15th. The cleanup is a big effort that works to clean up 18 kilometers of roadway. 

Volunteers will be meeting up at Siena Park just inside the Altos gates at 7:00 a.m. If you would like to participate in the cleanup effort let the guard know that you are part of the cleanup and they will let you in. Melo Group, S.A., will be helping out with the cleanup by providing workers and a dump truck to haul the collected trash to the Chame facility. This is a huge project which involves cleaning 18 kilometers of roadway. The Altos Green team have also been in talks with Melo, S.A., to provide signage along the road deterring littering, which is illegal in Panama and punishable by law. The signs will also give credit to the ADM Green Team in the effort to keep the roadway clean.

While the Altos del Maria Green Team is working to keep their roadway clean which is an important natural habitat for a variety of wildlife. The cleanup on the 15th is expected to bring over 15 volunteers out to keep their efforts strong. The team has 20 Hi-Vis vests, 20 Pair of leather gloves and 20 pole spears for picking up trash. Supplies are limited, depending on the number of volunteers who are in attendance.  For this reason, organizers ask that volunteers wear bright or reflective colors as this cleanup is taking place roadside, and bring any gloves they have along with them.
