Idaan Speaks to Coronado Resident's Association about Water

Recently the Regional Panama West Office of the Institute of Aqueducts and Sewage Systems (Idaan) told the Resident's Association of Playa Coronado that measures have been taken (beginning in March),

in order to regulate the daily water production. According to Idaan water production coming from the Chame water-treatment plant, has been reduced by 33% due to the lack of water flow coming from it's main source, Chame River.

Chame's drinking water plant supplies five regions, representing a population of about 35 thousand people. Operational shut down is now from 3:00 pm and reactivated at 10:00 pm. A reduction in the production of drinking water from 7.1 million gallons to 3.2 million gallons of water daily.

Water is a shared responsibility:

The Association of Residents of Playa Coronado shares these recommendations to minimize wasteful habits:

- Reducing watering gardens

- Control, emptying and / or filling swimming pools, hot tubs, or other
storage tanks.

- Shut faucets and showers properly

- Repair broken and leaking toilets and faucets.
