Another Successful PHRF Coronado Blood Drive

It is with great pride that Panama Hospice and Respite Foundation (PHRF) - Coronado, announce that on Wednesday February 17th, 2016 the Coronado Blood Drive was a resounding success. We had a record breaking number of Blood Donors – 43.

Congratulations to all the donors who came out in support of this community event. The beaches community never disappoint. We had old familiar faces and new faces made up of both expats and Panamanians alike. As we are all aware, such events always turn into a social gatherings where you catch up with old friends and meet new friends and this gathering was no different.

Special thanks to all the PHRF and community volunteers who worked tirelessly before, during and after the Blood Drive, the Blood Bank team from Hospital Nacional and Instituto Oncologio National (ION) and to Dr. Montero who always makes everyone feel so at ease. It is the people in the trenches that deserve the credit so you are all to be applauded for a job well done. Thank you Eileen Goosens and Natalia Iglesias from the Equestrian Club for allowing us once again to have our Blood Drive at the Equestrian Club Office.

Although, as donors, we never know the name of the person our blood is being directed, know that it will give someone a better quality of life and in many cases, you, the donor will be a life-saver.

Donors and Volunteers alike should take a bow for their contribution in making this Coronado Blood Drive so successful.

We look forward to our next Blood Drive in Coronado once you have all had time to top up your reserves so stay tuned.
