International Art in Costa Esmerelda

February 20th from 9am - 3pm there will be an Art Sale & Open House in Costa Esmerelda, put on by International Artist Mary Howard. Sra. Howard invites you to walk through “the Kasbah” and immerse yourself in the mystery and magic of her art and collectables.

Mary Howard an international citizen is interested in cultures and peoples of the world. She is a lifelong artist, who’s travels has taken her to  countries such as Burma and Morocco. She tells fascinating stories of Berber women and 12-year-old apprentice monks. She will take you to temples that are large enough to hold thousands and ones so small only a single person can enter, through her painting of the people and scenes of her travels.

Following a rigorous schedule, she travels with translator, takes pictures, makes notes and sketches. She paints during the day and critiques her work at night for two to three hours to prepare herself for the next day.

Mary Howard’s home studio in Costa Esmerelda called “The Kasbah", contains the fruits of her worldly labors. There are silk carpets, pottery from Morocco,  “Hand of Fatima” doorknockers, and ornaments for veils and garments. In the past few years, Mary has added many paintings and pieces from Panama to her art collection.

At the Art Sale on February 20th, Mary’s original oil paintings will be for sale as well as high-end reproductions of all of her work. You will also find decorative Eastern treasures for sale from her collection of items from around the world. Besides the Burma, Morocco, and Spirituality series, Mary has a Panama series with a Kuna Yala woman, individuals in Casco Viejo, as well as a personalities from  Bocas del Toro.
