Alcoholics Anonymous Comes to Coronado

The fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous has recently formed a new English speaking meeting group in Coronado.  Meetings are open to anyone who needs help to quit drinking alcohol. Many people have been able to stop drinking successfully by attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, even more so than by attending alcohol treatment facilities.  Millions have sobered up worldwide since the program was founded in 1935.   The members are men and women of all ages who get together regularly to share their experience, strength, and hope in recovering from an addiction to alcohol.  The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking.

Alcoholics Anonymous, usually abbreviated AA, is a 12-step program of recovery that has helped drinkers in different languages globally to give up the use of alcohol and regain their lives.  Your identity remains anonymous; we are on a first name basis only.  There are no dues or fees for membership.  It is free to all who need it.

The main objective is to help those who are suffering from drinking alcohol to get sober and stay sober with the support of other members.  The new meetings now in Coronado were founded by a group of recovering alcoholics with many years of sobriety called the Fresh Start AA Group Coronado.

Meetings are in English every Saturday at 10:30 am and every Thursday at 4:00 pm at the Centro Apostolico Rey de Paz church, across the highway from Cochez and immediately past the HIM/Melo shopping plaza.  Park at the church and walk to the building in the back of the church.

You can just show up at the meeting or call a member for help and support - Tim  (6151.9424) or Patrick (6562.0022) or email freshstartAA@yahoo.com.

Meetings are one hour long.  It is suggested you attend 6 meetings to decide if AA is for you.

Together we can do what we can’t do alone!
