Lexus Panama Classic Golf Tournament

Argentina’s Julián Etulain won the top prize of 27,000 dollars at the Lexus Panama Classic Golf tournament held at the JW Marriot Buenaventura Golf Course. This event was part of the PGA tour Latin America circuit which started in January in Peru and goes on until December in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The next event will be held at the Quito Tennis and Golf Club in Quito Ecuador over Sept 22-28 2014 with a prize total of 150,000 dollars. The others top players that went home with prizes were Armando Zarlenga, who closed with a 68 to claim runner-up honors, and Emilio Domínguez, who shot 70 to share the third spot with Florida’s Jhared Hack, who carded a Sunday-best 66.

The whole event was over a 4 day period and 4 round competition, and had everyone working very hard to make the event a success.

Local golfers were asked to work in the areas of course marshals, starters, announcers and score keepers so the days went by very professionally.

Sponsors stepped up to the plate with hospitality areas and drinks and snacks to make a great chance for people to rub shoulders with the players and supporters.

The staff of the golf course and the restaurant were very pleasant and went out of their way to try to answer any questions and to ensure that everyone was happy and the event was a success.
