St. Patty's day celebration at Locos

St. Patrick's Day is widely appreciated for its mid-Lenten season break from behavioral restrictions and "Kiss Me, I'm Irish" t-shirts. Irish or not, St. Patrick's Day celebrations are held worldwide, with parades, parties, and a lot of green beer. Green became associated with St. Patrick's Day, as it is the color of the shamrock. It is said that the leaf is what Saint Patrick used to explain the concept of the Holy Trinity (in Christian doctrine, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit) to the people he wished to introduce to Christianity.

Saint Patrick was born in Britain, but as a teenager was kidnapped and taken to Ireland as a slave. Though he escaped and went home, he later became a bishop and returned to Ireland to bring Christianity to the nation. Credited with doing exactly that, he is Ireland's patron saint, and the holiday commemorates the day of his death in the year 461.

Locos Coronado is going to kick off the St. Patrick's weekend with a party on Saturday, March 15. A special drinks menu will include Irish favorites (like whiskey) and some delicious green concoctions! Anyone can order their favorite celebratory beverage, but friends who show up wearing green will receive them at a special price.

Meli Carreño and Friends will be playing live starting at 7:00pm. This band from Panama City is making their first appearance in Coronado. You can regularly see them in San Francisco on Thursday and Casco Viejo on Friday -- and we can't wait to have them at the beaches on Saturday! Dance, drink, or just enjoy the air-conditioned dining room. Happy St. Patrick's Day!
