Airshow attracts over 15,000 people to the Pacific Beach area
Yesterday, Sunday Jan 19, The Skip Stewart Airshow was at the Scarlett Martinez International Airport in Rio Hato. The event brought over 15,000 to the airport, but local resident and photographer Frank Corbett told us this number only accounted for those inside the airport. There were also many spectators parked on the side of the highway to take in the daredevil pilots, parachute jumpers and aerobatics. “This event attracted more spectators than the closing concert of the Jazz Festival on Saturday. The Civil Aviation Administration said that the attendance was higher than expected.”
The event added to the regular beach traffic heading towards Panama City Sunday evening.
