Letters to Santa from the Students of Copecito
This past year brought variety community initiatives, sparked by the spirit of Christmas, to local communities along the Pacific Coast. One project spoke directly to the students, asking them to let Santa Clause know what they would like for Christmas. One resident of the Copecito area coordinated with teachers and the Correidor of the Copecito School to have students write a letter to Santa. 155 Students, ranging from Kindergarteners to grade 6 students, wrote letters. The letters were then of course, mailed to the North Pole. To everyone’s surprise 90% of students asked for the same thing! The majority of students wanted the school to have a park and playground where they could play. On December 12, 2013 Santa himself arrived at the Copecito school to deliver some good news. By Christmas of next year the Copecito school will be equipped with park and playground. Throughout the school year students will work together to organize and establish the park.
