Coronado Extreme Triathlon 2013

This year the Coronado Extreme Triathlon will be held September 22nd with a scheduled start time of 7:00 a.m. Participants should check in at 6:30 a.m. at the Coronado Beach resort. The morning begins with a sprint to the ocean, as participates race to be among the first to enter the salty waters of the Pacific. After a 750-meter swim, participants move on to a 20k bike ride on the bumpy roads of Coronado. The last leg of the event is a 5k run, ending the mini triathlon.

The Coronado Extreme Triathlon is the oldest Triathlon in Panama; the first event took place over 14 years ago. Since then the event has become popular among expats and is a continued favorite among locals. Although it is a sprint triathlon, intended for the beginner athlete, the race holds its name ‘Coronado Extreme Triathlon’ because of the unpredictable conditions contestants will face.
