Two Mini-Clinics and a Fundraiser

We now have 57 happier, healthier, non-reproductive dogs and cats in our neighborhoods! This time, Spay the Strays held two small clinics rather than one larger one: the first was in Chame with our beach volunteers and Dr. Alexis Escrucerias (assisted by Jairo) and the other in Sora with the help of our Altos residents and Dr. Jorge Velez. At both clinics, we welcomed new volunteers into our STS family and we hope to see them often!  In Chame, we thank: John July who assisted Alexis; Sue Dykler and Peggy Ajax who worked in post-op; Kari Lorenzi and Maya Andrus who helped in recovery; Chris Gardiner helped with pre-op; Ruth Alchemy and Patti Fitzgerald cleaned tables; Leon Dykler, Rob Condit and Tao Andrus taxied animals back and forth; Irene Rodgers and Lidia DeConto registered clients (and Lidia also helped with Taxi); Susan McKay and Sheila Scott cleaned instruments.  Max Poirier jumped in to help when needed and Freddi Byers helped train in post-op.   Freddi was such a trooper that she came to Sora and helped with post-op there too.  Lidia and Richard DeConto were kind enough to lend their home for our clinic! Sharon Alley worked as vet assistant and Linda Goldschmeding cleaned tables (and both of them made food for us hungry volunteers!); Lidia registered the animals; Melissa Knight worked in recovery; Dusty taxied. TC McVey brought dogs to both clinics and Frauke Munoz provides transportation for ALL the villagers and their pets.

It takes a village to put on these clinics and each one of our supporters is vital to our cause!  With so many worthy causes, we are so grateful that our volunteers choose to help Spay the Strays.  We are nothing without YOU!

But, wait, there's more!! Great Music, Great Drink and Appetizer Specials and…It’s all for a great cause!  Please join Spay the Strays (STS) as we once again put the FUN in FUNdraiser!  We are fortunate to have the Oldies but Goodies Group agree to one final performance at Luky’s in Sora this Wednesday from 5 to 7:30. All drinks will be half price and Luky’s has some great happy hour appetizers (as well as complete meals). Cover charge is $5 with all proceeds going to spay/neuter clinics.  Come early so you don’t miss a beat. Sora is only 30 minutes away and the drive is spectacular!  RSVPs to Mary are appreciated for planning purposes but not required.
