Rancho Los Torros Robbed During Sushi Night - Cook Stabbed - rest. closed
The details given here are from an eye-witness report. I am unable to reach anyone at the Ranch for comment.
Rancho Los Torros is located in San Carlos, in the area behind Carlito's Restaurant. It is past Finca La Maya.
Around 9:30, 5 men wearing ski masks came out of the bushes and demanded valuables from everyone. Most were carrying knives. One carried a gun. There were 14 people at the ranch, including staff.
A bilingual employee was forced at gun point to translate.
The robbery lasted several hours.
Customers and staff were made to lie down on the ground, the hands of the men and some of the women were tied behind their backs with tape.
At some point the cook was stabbed and was bleeding profusely.
The people were told that if they co-operated, they would be safe.
The robbers took cell phones, money, jewelry, electronics and cash.
The owner and another staff member were hit.
The robbers left in a car of one of the victims. The car was later recovered.
At some point, the victims were forced into a bedroom and told not to move. The robbers said that if anyone moved, they would be shot.
Once the robbers left, one of the girls called the police from a phone she had hidden.
Police took about 15 minutes to arrive. They kept people for several more hours. They did not interview everyone, and had to be reminded to call an ambulance for the cook.
There is no news on the cook.
