Message to a growing Community of Young People
As a young person living in the beach area, I often get asked the question, “what is there to do around here”? In past years I’ve found myself wondering the same thing. This year I have some answers! If you are new to the area a great place to meet new people is Picasso’s Wednesday happy hour, starting at 5 p.m. Happy hour at Picasso often turns into an evening of good conversation with new friends. Claire (owner) has been hard at work creating Coronado nightlife for the young and young at heart. Expect music every Saturday night. Picasso is open Wednesday – Sunday from 4:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. Open later on event nights.
Last year Locos Backyard Grill opened their doors in Gorgona. Since their opening, David and Stephanie (owners) continue to keep fun and innovative events on the menu. These events have included the ‘Gringos go Green’ charity drive, several open mic nights, a youth night, service industry night and Beer pong tournaments. Locos is open Thursday to Saturday from 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. and Sundays from 12:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. Open later on event nights.
If you are looking for a place to kick back and relax by the pool for the weekend, Rancho Los Toros is a good place to check out. The ranch has a hostel style dorm rooms with bunk beds, as well as private accommodations.
Thursday nights the ranch has Thai on the menu, Fridays its sushi. Dinner is served at 7:00 p.m.
It’s pretty easy to throw a good party at the beach. Hiring a DJ is very affordable. DJ Orleez is a local DJ, he has a large variety of music and will play all night long. DJ Unkn0wn is a new DJ in the area. Check these guys out if you’re looking to turn a small gathering into a jam.
Beach parties and bonfires are always a goodtime, but be sure to check the tides!
Get the Panama Tides App, available for Android and Iphone.
