CASA 2012 Christmas Dance

The Coronado Area Social Association (CASA) held their 5th annual Christmas Dance at the Coronado Hotel's new air conditioned Convention Hall on Saturday, December 22. The group sold 194 tickets to the event, which was attended by 190 guests. The number marks a sharp increase in attendees from previous years. "The number of people attending close to doubled", said Louise Belisle, President of CASA. The rise in numbers is testament to the increase in expats coming to live / vacation at the beaches. Louise also believes that the air conditioned venue had something to do with the decision to attend. "Cilla Walsh, had a great deal to do with this event's success." Said Louise "she was responsible for negotiating and sealing the deal for the Coronado Hotel's hall and food services". The well attended Christmas Dance featured a buffet dinner, bar, professional photographer and a live band. Poco Loco, a favorite expat band played familiar hits from the 70s and 80s to a packed dance floor. The event received many positive comments from guests.

CASA organizes and holds several events in the year. A Chili Cook-Off, a Beach Picnic, a Craft Fair and a Christmas Dance. Through the year, the group fund raises to provide food baskets to poor families with handicapped children. The next basket distribution will take place on January 6th at 12:30pm in San Carlos. CASA membership is $5 a year. To find out more email csa2008p@gmail.com.
