There is a new theatre company at the beaches in Panama!

Murder Mystery Musical Theatre Company (MMM & Co.) is set to launch tomorrow with their debut performance "Pinchin de Picasso." The sold out world premier is set to take place at Picasso Thursday, June 21st at 6:00pm. MMM & Co. offers a unique murder mystery experience. Their productions will be campy, interactive, comical and stocked with sexual innuendos. As the plot thickens the audience will collect clues from the characters, helping them unravel the mystery for themselves. Everyone is a suspect, every character is wildly exaggerated, and everything ends in a song.

The company's first performance has been sold out for over a month. There is such demand for theatre in the area that MMM & Co. has already announced a repeat performance of the same show on Sept. 14th, gaining a lot of response - the show is already 50% sold out.The original script "Pinchin de Picasso", was written by first time script writer, Yolanda Van Der Kolk, an expat in the community. Her husband Rob Brown (Roberto Chocolate of www.retirementdetectives.com/) directs and is the creative mind behind the production and the company. Rob has experience putting on murder mysteries, and has a good understanding of the kind of productions the company aims to achieve.

Rob speaks on an effort to solidify the community here in Coronado, and create a place where people can meet and get to know one another, in an interview with Playacommunity: "Having a community theatre demonstrates conclusively that a real community does exist here" says Rob Brown artistic director of MMM & co. A theatre will bring people together creating a new forum in which they are able to interact, weather it be as part of the company, or as spectators.

There is no longer a need to commute to the city to see theatre. "We can have a great theatre company right here in our community" Says Claire Ross, Producer of the play and Owner of Picasso Bar & Restaurant, the sense of the crime. In fact eliminating the drive to the city is only the tip of the ice berg in terms of the advantages of bringing theatre to the area.

The benefits to having a theatre here in Coronado are plentiful. The most visible of these benefits are  1) expanding the options for entertainment in the area, and 2) the development of the area has a whole. By bringing theatre to the beach there is a new element of life, humor, culture, and fun that becomes accessible right here within the community. This type of growth benefit everyone here, it will also draw more people into the area.  It will create a trickle down effect, making the area more profitable by bringing revenue to restaurants, adding value to property, and generating an energy in the community, giving people a way of connecting, bringing the community to life.

"Everyone is excited about having a theatre company in the area" Says Claire, who plays a fundamental role in the production as actor and producer. In fact, everyone involved plays a huge role in the production. The company has been build from the ground up, and the players have put their hearts and souls into their debut performance. Their hard work is sure to pay off as, MMM & Co. have their sights set high. The company has plans to launch a radio Internet show, live from Picasso Bar & Restaurant - sharing their special blend of humor and mystery with the world.

While the company has yet to launch publicity campaigns, they would like to invite the whole community to take part. They are reaching out to those who are interested in getting involved in the community. As said best by Rob, "It takes a community to build a theater and this is community theatre."
