La Chorrera International Fair - 2012

La Chorera is hosting their International Fair from January 18th to the 29th.  Open all day and in the evenings. This fair has a lot going on!  Busy little streets full of stalls offering everything from food to jewelry, hand made sandals, pots, pans and quite a few novelties.  Naturally there would be ponies to ride and a few animals to check out in the agricultural area.   A little further away, there is the flower section where you can buy anything from orchids to herbs.  Even the National Borders Guards were on hand to show off their jeeps and uniforms.

A few model homes are open for visits, furniture up for sale as well as an area with car dealerships showing off their new models.  Banks are on site to help you finance it all.

No fair would be complete without games of chance as well as those mechanical rides including the roller coaster.

In the evening many stalls turn into bars where music is enjoyed.  A few larger fenced in areas were prepping for live shows that will go well into the night.

So if you want to make it to Chorrera’s International Fair, you need to take the autopista towards Panama, turn left up the ramp to Chorrera, go 3.8 km toward towards town, turn right on the same street that you see Banco National (which would be on the right hand side), keep going straight till there is a fork in the road, go towards the left and you will eventually see a large orange building with gates.  You have arrived.  Cost is $2 for adults, $1 for children and Jubilados. Parking cost us $2.
