(http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/)  GLASGOW'S Clipper is dwarfed as it tackles one of the most famous feats of engineering, the Panama Canal.

Glasgow: Scotland with Style was one of the first boats to sail the 51-mile long waterway as part of the Round the World Yacht race.

Boats are in danger of running aground if they stray from the correct channel, so they had a pilot on board to help.

Also on board was HM Ambassador to Panama, Richard Austen, who told the crew: "I'm looking forward to doing probably the shortest leg of all - but I will take my seasickness tablets before we start."

The boats are now en route to Jamaica, with Glasgow: Scotland with Style in fifth place.

Overall the team, led by skipper Hannah Jenner, is in fourth behind Hull and Humber, who are also ahead of New York and Durban 2010 and Beyond.

Race founder Sir Robin Knox-Johnston has started the search for skippers for Clipper 09-10. For details see www.clipperroundtheworld.com
