Powered Paragliders Set a New World Record in Panama

{mosgooglecenter}   At 7:30 this morning, the team of 8 Powered Paragliders launched into the air for a 2 hour flight from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific. 7 of the 8 pilots are now world record holders, having been the first to accomplish an ocean-to-ocean flight. Philip Russman (USA), who filmed the event from the air had to land mid way on a construction site, due to engine trouble. Jeff Hamann and Jeff Goin  circled overhead, while Philip re-launched and completed the journey. While the short stop, disqualified Philip from the record books, he had the honor of completing the crossing with his colleagues.   The flyers were visible high in the sky as they sailed by over the Pedro Miguel locks and the Miraflores locks.   Playacommunity.com will publish pictures of this remarkable event over the next few days, as they become available.   Click the 'Read More' link at the right, to see a picture of the team right after their flight at the Miraflores Locks.
