Passport Office director calls it quits after 45 days
(PanamaNewsRoom) Speculation is rife in Panama after another senior government appointee has resigned for “personal reasons” this time after only 45 days on the job.
The latest to give himself a pink slip is Javier Arias, director of the National Passport Office who called it a day on Friday (March 11).
The resignation was confirmed by Minister of Government Roxana Méndez. She said that Arias informed her verbally of his decision, but she has yet to receive written notification.
Arias was previously made director of the national environmental authority (Anam but resigned at the end of December. A month later, he was appointed director of the Passport Office which has had its own problems in recent years.
