Panama Carnival 2011 in its final hours

alt(Panama-Guide) - La Estrella -  Strong operations and security by the National Police provided safety for the carnival celebrations in the different parts of the country and a good atmosphere, and today thousands of Panamanians participated in the "culecos" - the last day revelry. In the early hours today entire families arrived at the coastal strip to enjoy the water being sprayed on the crowds and the performing artists on stage. The excitement on their faces was evident, children and adults with their hair dyed blond and red or braided together, entering the area of the Carnival celebrations one by one, police officers verified their identity cards with the handheld "Pele Police" data system, and others patted them down to make sure no one could introduce anything into the area that might cause harm to others. A good turnout was expected for Tuesday afternoon with revelers returning to the area to enjoy the parade, and to see tonight's show with Osvaldo Ayala, Jr. Rank, Mr. Fox and Nigga on the main stage. While thousands are still enjoying the carnival and parades in the interior of the country, some are already beginning their return to the capital. Already by 8:00 am this morning already 70,235 vehicles had returned to the city. The authorities have declared Carnival of 2011 as a success, because so far there has not been one person killed within the areas where carnival was being celebrated.
