Easing Panama’s doctor shortage

alt(Newsroompanama.com) Panama’s chronic doctor shortage, particularly in the interior,is  being  eased with the hiring of 22 foreign specialists.

 
Minister of Health Franklin Vergara confirmed the move on Friday January10. They will work in four hospitals in the interior.
 
Vergara said the Health Technical Council made a "rigorous" review of the credentials of the specialists, who will start work in the next two weeks in Las Tablas, Chitré, Veraguas and Penonomé.
 
They are all from Latin American countries, Mexico, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Argentina and Colombia.
