Mulino Found Serious Problems With Prison Guard System

alt(Panama-Guide) - Panama America -  "As the Minister of Government and Justice at the beginning of the administration of Ricardo Martinelli I found more than 400 positions for prison guards in the prison system were "bottles" or appointed officials serving in other State agencies," said Panama's Security Minister Jose Raul Mulino. Mulino added that at the time he asked the government of Colombia for aid and assistance from the prison system in that country, and he said he left his plans and projects outlined in a report "precisely to light the way for the new official" (Roxana Mendez). Mulino said he is not trying to hide anything or trying to shine impunity in the case of fire in the Tocumen Compliance Center. "You would have to be a monster of a person to try to cover this up and to say that nothing happened," he said, while qualifying the incident as barbaric. In this sense he sees it as positive that Auxiliary Prosecutor Dimas Guevara has started the relevant investigations to clarify what happened, and that those who are found to be guilty should pay.
